In a recent conversation with a local organization that just received funding to expand business development, one truth stood out: growth takes time. Their model isn’t unique in requiring education and training before funding — but the length of time is. Several months of study before you even qualify. In this microwave, instant-gratification society, that’s virtually unheard of.

And while I appreciate the idea of taking time to learn, most people’s bills and family obligations don’t afford them that luxury. I call it the privilege of peace, time, and autonomy. It’s a gift not everyone has — and yet, it’s exactly what our community needs now more than ever!

⏳ When Readiness Meets Reality
As a grant writer in Philly, my writing partner and I often have to turn down clients because they’re simply not ready. It took some time, but I convinced her that we needed to pivot and focus on education. However, I was surprised that people aren’t jumping at the opportunity to learn about grant writing.

As lucrative as grant writing can be, we saw the importance of teaching people and organizations how to get grant ready and write their own grants…
